Well, that didn’t turn out like I expected.

Women are being targeted on campus, and the campus police are barely pretending to investigate. No way am I going to let that stand. But when I stick my nose into an investigation on campus, I inadvertently end up the target of a killer.

When my bakery buddies Callie and Anna discover what I’ve been up to, they are ready to jump headfirst into the investigation. They are not going to be happy when they discover the secrets I’ve been keeping. No one can stop Callie and Anna when their minds are made up, though.

Not only do I end up smack dab in the middle of a murder investigation, but a friend has decided he’s going to keep me safe. What I want is apparently immaterial. We’ll see about that.

Will we find the killer before he hits the bull-eyes on my back?

Cupcakes not included, although there is one seriously yummy Grasshopper Cake.

Each book in the Death by Cupcake series can be read as a standalone, although they’re way more fun if read in order.

Warning: Although there are plenty of moments that will make you shake your head and laugh at the antics of the ladies of Callie’s Cakes, the subject matter – rape on college campuses – is very real and somewhat darker than your usual cozy mystery.

~ What readers are saying ~

This entire series is a well-written one with enjoyable characters.

I commend Ms. Haggerty for dealing with tough situations in this book. This book handles a big issue that happens at college and doesn’t make fun or demean the women in this situation but the reality that women face.
~Community Bookstop

Self-Serve Murder is a thoroughly entertaining cozy mystery that will keep the reader in stitches.

I really enjoyed their character interactions. I will be adding the rest of this series to my TBR list.
~Bibliophile Reviews

I loved the three women looking into the mystery and attempting to bring change and take action where the authorities are not.
